Constable Donald MacLeod (1913 & 1916)

Constable MacLeod was recommended for two separate acts of gallantry in saving the lives of persons who had fallen into Glasgow Docks.
The incidents took place in 1913 and 1916. On both occasions he entered the water at great risk to himself.
Exact details of these incidents have not been found.

Constable William Tait Brown (1916 & 1917)

Constable WIlliam Brown On 21 January 1916, Constable Brown showed conspicuous gallantry in saving the life of a woman who had attempted suicide by throwing herself into the River Clyde. Constable Brown entered the water and swam out 50 yards to reach her. He then brought her to the river bank despite the temperature being very cold and the river fast flowing.
On 25 September 1917, Constable Brown dived from a bridge into the River Clyde to rescue a drowning man. For these two rescues, he was awarded the KPM. (London Gazette 1.1.1918)
